With deep sadness, family, friends, and members of the Watertown, New York, community are grieving the loss of 37-year-old Kristen Parker, who was killed in a heartbreaking stabbing incident Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Watertown Police Department, officers responded around 1:34 p.m. to 661 Factory Street, Apartment 27, following reports of a stabbing. Parker was identified as the victim in the incident, which authorities are investigating as a domestic violence homicide.
Police later arrested 35-year-old Robert Taplin shortly before 3 p.m. on Water Street. Authorities said Taplin admitted to the crime. He was arraigned in Jefferson County CAP Court on August 4, 2026, and is being held without bail as the investigation continues.
