COLUMBUS, INDIANA — The Columbus community is mourning the passing of Paula J. Landis, 72, who passed away on August 5, 2026, in Columbus. Born on August 2, 1954, in Franklin, Indiana, Paula will be remembered for her faith, kindness, and the lasting impact she made on her family, friends, and church community.
Paula lived a life centered on compassion, devotion, and service to others. Those who knew her described her as a loving and faith-filled woman whose gentle spirit brought comfort and warmth to the people around her. Her beliefs guided her throughout her life and shaped the way she cared for others.
She was a devoted member of Apostolic Revival Tabernacle, where she found fellowship and strength through her faith community. Friends and church members remember Paula for her caring nature, steady presence, and the many acts of kindness she shared with those around her.
Family was one of the greatest joys in Paula’s life. Her husband, Jim Landis, preceded her in death in 2019, and their bond remained a cherished part of her story. She was also a loving grandmother and caregiver to Nicole, a role she embraced with patience, dedication, and love.
Paula is survived by her son, Jay Landis and his wife Charity; stepdaughter Jackii Myers; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her sisters, Deedee Broderick, Susann Stahl and her husband Ed, and Ellen Alexander and her husband Phil; along with several nieces and nephews who will continue to honor her memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl J. Pitney and Clara I. Pitney.
Throughout her life, Paula showed remarkable strength and perseverance. After surviving a serious accident when she was just 5 years old, she continued to face life’s challenges with grace, faith, and determination.
Funeral services for Paula Landis will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, August 10, 2026, at Revival Tabernacle Church, with Pastor Chauncey Romine and Darren Burton officiating. Visitation will begin at noon at the church. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Jim, at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the church in her memory.
Paula Landis will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and church community. Her legacy of faith, love, and kindness will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.
