Chris was a senior at Salve Regina University, where he pursued a degree in Business Administration with a minor in Finance while serving as a standout midfielder for the Seahawks men’s lacrosse team. His dedication to academics and athletics reflected the determination, discipline, and work ethic that defined every aspect of his life.
Before arriving at Salve Regina, Chris earned All-County honors at Westhampton Beach High School, where he established himself as one of the area’s premier lacrosse players. His passion for the game continued at the collegiate level, where he became an important contributor to the Seahawks’ success. Teammates admired his leadership, competitive spirit, and selfless approach, while coaches praised his relentless commitment to improving both himself and those around him.
Away from the field, Chris was equally accomplished. He spent years working as a dockhand at Oaklands Marina before joining Newport Harbor Island Resort, where he became known for his professionalism and exceptional customer service. Most recently, he fulfilled a dream by working as a microphone operator for NBCUniversal Sports during the 2026 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills, an experience he proudly described as one of the highlights of his young career.
Those closest to Chris remember him not only for his accomplishments but for the person he was. He possessed a contagious smile, a warm personality, and an extraordinary ability to connect with others. Friends describe him as loyal, compassionate, hardworking, and someone who always put his teammates, family, and friends before himself. Whether offering encouragement during difficult moments or celebrating the success of others, Chris made everyone around him feel valued.
He is lovingly remembered by his parents, Chris and Patricia Koltzan, his sisters Mary Elizabeth and Margaret Rose, and his extended family, teammates, classmates, coaches, and countless friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness and friendship.
